REDMOND, WA — The Redmond Police Department is investigating an altercation that involved several young people Thursday afternoon, according to investigators. A heavy police presence descended on the area of Northeast 90th Street and Avondale Road Northeast around 1:30 p.m. Police said early reports indicated a gun was fired, but it did not appear anyone was hit. According to the police department, witnesses reported several juveniles, including some armed with a chain and a hatchet. Police said another witness was confronted by a person armed with a pistol. Detectives are still investigating the incident, and further details on the circumstances of the altercation were not immediately released.
