PUYALLUP, WA — The Puyallup School District will continue to offer meals to any students who need them, despite the fact that students will be learning from home when classes resume in September.
The district says, starting on September 3, each school in the Puyallup School District will allow students to pick up a week supply of breakfast and lunches. The cache will include heat-and-eat entrees, sandwiches, and prepacked lunch bags.
Food can be picked up any time between 11 a.m. and noon each Monday, with the following exceptions when pick-up will be on Tuesday:
September 8January 19February 16May 31Families can grab the meal packs at any district school. Organizers say walk-ups are welcome and that meals will be distributed curbside in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
The meals are not free, though they are cheaper for families who qualify for free or reduced price meals during a normal school year.
