Kirkland's mobile vaccination team is making good progress in reaching some of the city's most vulnerable adults and is on track to begin another chapter next week, city officials said Wednesday. Right now, eight mobile vaccination teams staffed by local fire departments are working across King County through a public health partnership. In Kirkland, the city said its team would complete vaccinations at 50 adult family homes by the end of the week. Next week, the team will shift focus to Kirkland's senior living facilities, including low-income and subsidized housing. The mobile teams' goal is to reach vulnerable populations that may be unable to venture out to traditional vaccine appointments. City officials said Kirkland's firefighters are also helping staff the vaccination site on Microsoft's Redmond campus, which started administering limited doses earlier in the month. The city is also working to create a similar site in Kirkland but said a timeline would depend on vaccine availability and logistical support.
