BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue Police Department will offer a new series of virtual town hall meetings, building on the success of a December event, city officials announced Tuesday. Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett will host "Conversations with the Chief" over the Zoom app, beginning with a chat scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16. According to the city, next week's chat will center on the city's Asian/Pacific Islander community and also include updates on the budget, officer hiring and the city's police reform pledge. Officials said future town halls will include police advisory councils and sector captains from across Bellevue to hear from community members and answer questions. The city said a similar event in mid-December drew over 100 people with questions about policing in the city. Earlier this month, the city released a draft report on police use of force policies, seeking community input on dozens of proposed changes. Those interested in participating in Tuesday's town hall can register ahead of time via Eventbrite and login to Zoom on Feb. 16, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
