Description
Northwest Harvest is receiving a delivery of 75,000 servings (close to 19 tons) of donated chicken from Foster Farms on Wednesday, September 30. The product will be distributed to help feed local families impacted economically by COVID-19. Representatives from Northwest Harvest will be on hand to speak to the area’s level of food insecurity and call for additional donations, volunteers, and support.
“Up and down the West Coast and in communities where we live and work, the economic effects of COVID-19 show no sign of letting up,” said Foster Farms VP of Communications Ira Brill. “We are happy to support the important work our longtime food bank partners are doing to fight hunger amid unprecedented demand for food that is expected to last long beyond the pandemic.”
