What's Up Prince William January 22, 2021 An Occoquan District project will be the focus of an upcoming public hearing. A hearing on the Summit School Project has been approved by the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS), according to a release from Prince William County. It is currently scheduled for the 2 p.m. BOCS meeting on February 2. As part of the road work, Summit School Road will be connected to Telegraph Road, north of where drivers enter the Horner Road Park and Ride. The project, which seeks to address traffic congestion, also includes widening Telegraph Road between the Caton Hill Road and Prince William Parkway intersections. Four lanes – two in both directions – will be added. Officials are also planning to install a sidewalk and shared-use path. The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) is providing $11 million for the project as well as $24 million for construction and right of way and utility work. Officials may start accessing the latter funding in fiscal 2024. About $45,100 in funding is coming from Prince William County proffers. A virtual presentation about the project is available on the county's website.
