WOODBRIDGE, VA — Police continue to search for a Dumfries man that they believe was involved in a shooting at a Woodbridge café Saturday night that sent another person to the hospital and who is being sought on a number of criminal charges in connection with the shooting. James L. Gregory, 34, is wanted in connection with the shooting which took place outside the Babylon Café in the 3000 block of Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge, Prince William County police said Monday. Police were called to the business just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of shots fired after what appears to be an altercation between two customers. Police said they found a 27-year-old man a short distance from the café who had been shot. The victim told police that he and Gregory had been involved in an argument at the café and then had moved outside where the man said Gregory pulled out a gun, police said. The victim – who has not been identified by police – said that Gregory fired the gun several times and then left in a dark-colored vehicle. The victim left the scene as well before being found by police a short distance away. Police found shell casings at the scene of the shooting on Sunday and then reported to two businesses a block away that had been damaged during the shooting, police said Monday. Police have yet to locate Gregory, who is described as being 6-4, 300 pounds, with long dreadlocks and brown eyes. He is wanted on charges of aggravated wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, firing a gun in public, possession of a gun by a felon and destruction of property.
