WOODBRIDGE, VA — Police are looking for a Woodbridge man after incidents of carjacking and armed robbery over the weekend, according to police reports. The Prince William County Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Sami Souhail Anwari, though they have been unable to locate him. On Friday, Jan. 29, authorities responded to a call about an armed robbery at the Helzberg Diamonds store located in the Potomac Mills mall. The store's employees mentioned that a man, later identified as Anwari, came into the store several times throughout the day. The last time he entered the store, police reports say that Anwari implied that he had a firearm, stole multiple pieces of jewelry, and fled the area in a white sedan. On Saturday, Jan. 30, police officers responded to a carjacking in Dale City, according to reports. There, a woman said that an acquaintance was driving her car when he brandished a machete and forced her to exit the vehicle. Through their investigation, police determined that the woman's acquaintance was Anwari. Detectives also determined that Anwari was the man that robbed the Helzberg Diamonds location on the previous day, according to the police report. Detectives than obtained arrest warrants for Anwari, but their attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful. The Prince William County Police Department states that Anwari is currently wanted for robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, carjacking, and brandishing a machete.
