Vienna Theatre Company Presents Radio Shows In Person, Virtually

VIENNA, VA — The Vienna Theatre Company is trying something new in the age of the coronavirus: Zoom performances. In October, three old-school radio shows will be held with limited in-person attendance and Zoom video conferencing. The company's "Living Sound" series will run over two weekends in October. The performances are episodes of classic American radio series that continuously played on radios around the U.S. between 1946 and 1960. Performances cover different genres: lighthearted comedy, detective mysteries and sci-fi drama. All feature live sound effects. The shows are free to attendees, but donations can be provided to the Vienna Theatre Company. In-person attendance will be limited to 21 per show, and Zoom links will be provided on show days. In-person shows will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 and 30 and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 and 31. Tickets may be obtained in advance at the Vienna Community Center and at the door before performances if space remains available. Zoom shows will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 and 31.
