This story was updated Feb. 10, at 6:25 p.m. RESTON, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department responded to the report of a homicide that took place shortly after 2 p.m., on Wednesday, in the 2300 block of Branleigh Park in in Reston, according to a posts on the FCPD Twitter account. Detectives from the major crime unit were still on the scene at 5:25 p.m., according to a Twitter post. A preliminary investigation revealed that the fatal shooting involved a male victim. Police say that that the incident appears not to be a random act of violence at this time. Police believe the suspect has left the area in a Silver Nissan Rogue. This is a developing story and will be updated when more details become available. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.
