Man Escapes Manassas Intersection Without Getting Shot: Police

MANASSAS, VA — A man traveling on Dumfries Road in the Manassas area had guns pointed at him Wednesday morning by occupants of another vehicle but was able to leave the area without any shots being fired at him, according to the Prince William County Police Department. At about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, police officers responded to the report of a brandishing incident. The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police that while driving on Dumfries Road, he saw two vehicles driving erratically. The man drove past the two vehicles. But one of the vehicles caught up to him near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Liberia Avenue. Two occupants of the vehicle, a GMC Yukon, approached the victim's vehicle while brandishing firearms, according to the police. When the traffic light changed, the man was able to leave the area without further incident. Officers were able to identify one of the suspects as Travis Demetrius Banks of Washington, D.C., and obtained warrants for his arrest, the department said. Banks, described as a Black male with black dreadlocks and brown eyes, is wanted in connection with the brandishing of a firearm. The other occupant of the GMC Yukon has not been identified. He is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes and is left-handed. He was last seen wearing a ski-style mask with silver writing on the front, a black shirt, jeans, and was carrying a firearm, the police said.
