Description
LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is showing "Forrest Gump" on Friday, July 24. Tickets will be available online starting at noon Friday, July 10.
This is the second in a series of three popup, drive-in movie events scheduled in July. Movies will be shown in the parking lot at Segra Field, 42095 Loudoun United Drive in Leesburg. Gates open at 8 p.m.
Drive-in movies are becoming popular again in the age of coronavirus when moviegoers would prefer not to sit indoors in a movie theater with strangers. The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton opened a pop-up drive-in theater in June and sold out all of its shows.
At the Loudoun drive-in, tickets cost $20 per vehicle. Five VIP front-row spaces will be available for $40. Tickets to the July 17 drive-in movie, "Jurassic Park," sold out Monday in less than an hour.
Information about the drive-in movies can be found on the Loudoun Parks Department's Facebook page and website.
