LEESBURG, VA — A man suspected in an armed robbery in Leesburg was arrested. Police identified the man, Kyle Robinson, as the suspect from an incident in January, according to a news release. On Jan. 14, the Leesburg Police Department responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road. However, police were not able to locate the man when they arrived, according to the initial police report. Minutes later, police officers were called to the area again to take a report for an armed robbery. Police determined the armed robbery suspect matched the earlier description for a man with a gun. Police said the man assaulted a victim, and took money and property from them before leaving the area in a vehicle. Police identified the suspect as Robinson, a resident of Rockville, Maryland. Robinson was arrested by the Fairfax Police Department on Sunday, Feb. 7. Robinson is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The Leesburg Police Department charged him with robbery, displaying a firearm in the commission of a felony, and threats. The incident is still under investigation, and the Leesburg Police Department wants to speak with anyone who may have information. Anyone with information can call Detective Hill at 703-771-4500. Or, to remain anonymous, people can call the Leesburg Crime Line at 703-443-8477.
