Press release from the Town of Leesburg: 02/11/2021 UPDATE: Leesburg Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested Leesburg, VA (February 11, 2021) – Pursuant to an investigation by Leesburg Police Department Detectives, 30 year old Kyle Robinson of Rockville, MD was arrested on Sunday, February 7, 2021 by the Fairfax County Police Department on LPD warrants charging him with robbery, displaying a firearm in the commission of a felony, and threats. Robinson remains held on no bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on the Leesburg warrants as well as on other unrelated charges. The Leesburg charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 14, 2021, in which Leesburg Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE for a report of a subject brandishing a firearm and a subsequent report of an armed robbery. The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section. Kyle Robinson Original News Release: Leesburg Police Investigate Armed Robbery Leesburg, VA (January 15, 2021) – On Thursday, January 14, 2021 at approximately 5:28 PM, Leesburg Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE for a report of a subject brandishing a firearm. Officers responded, however they were unable to locate the subject. Shortly thereafter at approximately 5:41 PM, LPD officers were called back to the apartment complex for a report of an armed robbery that had occurred 15 to 20 minutes prior, involving a suspect matching the description from the brandishing call. It was determined that the suspect assaulted the robbery victim and took an undetermined amount of US currency and personal property from the victim, before fleeing the area in a vehicle. Through an investigation, it has been determined that the suspect was known to the robbery victim. The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
