FREDERICKSBURG, VA — On Giving Tuesday, the Fredericksburg SPCA is asking for donations to continue providing medical care and housing for homeless animals and veterinary services to pets in the community. This year, the Fredericksburg SPCA is asking for donations through its website, the mail, and onsite drop-offs. The SPCA is located at 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. The SPCA also is accepting donations through its Facebook fundraiser tool. For Facebook fundraisers who raise $100 or more, donors will receive a t-shirt commemorating their gift. The organization has set a goal to raise $25,000 through donations and Facebook fundraisers. "Especially now during COVID-19, money raised on Giving Tuesday will provide access to low-cost medical care to those in need," the SPCA said. The group's People Empowered Through Support Program helps people who are struggling to make ends take care of their pets. The P.E.T.S. Program was created to keep animals out of the shelter and in their homes. During the pandemic, the Fredericksburg SPCA has seen enrollment in this program increase by three-fold.
