FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Gemini 3 Group, a Stafford-based government contracting business, donated more than 10,000 wristbands to Mary Washington Healthcare to promote coronavirus vaccine awareness.
The "Got The Shot" wristbands intend to shed any stigma related to the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a press release from the Gemini 3 Group.
The Gemini 3 Group's wristband donations are part of a partnership with Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg. The wristbands are distributed to people as they are vaccinated, and allow the freshly-vaccinated people a unique way to share the news on their social media accounts.
Linda Blakemore is the CEO of the Gemini 3 Group. "We are all in this together, and these wristbands symbolize that mantra," Blakemore said in a press release. "As they become more and more prevalent, we believe these bands will create community pride and encourage others to get vaccinated so that we can return to a sense of normalcy."
Organizations who would like to order their own "Got the Shot" wristband can visit the Gemini 3 Group's website, or email them at [email protected].
Virginia is currently in Phase 1b of the state's vaccine rollout plan. Local health districts are administering the COVID-19 vaccine at clinics across the state. In Phase 1b, vaccines are administered to healthcare personnel, frontline essential workers, people over the age of 65, and those with underlying medical conditions.
The Virginia Department of Health posted a tool online to help residents determine if they are eligible for the vaccine.
