FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 33-year-old Fredericksburg man is being held without bond after Stafford County deputies arrested the man who was charged with multiple crimes, including driving under the influence of alcohol, police said Tuesday. Trenton Allen has been charged with driving under the influence, which was his second offense in five years, refusal to take a sobriety test (second offense in five years), possession of a firearm while intoxicated, obstruction of justice and two counts of reckless driving, police said. Allen was arrested after Stafford County deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed at 10:25 p.m. Monday in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Musante Road, police said. Police eventually caught up to the vehicle which was stranded in the middle of the intersection of Jefferson Davis Parkway and American Legion Road. Police said smoke was coming from the front of the vehicle and that the vehicle also had front-end damage. Police said after the deputies approached the vehicle and Allen got out of the vehicle and started walking toward the deputy. Allen did not comply with officer's instructions before additional deputies were called and Allen was eventually taken into custody. Police said that deputies noticed a gun in Allen's possession and said he had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Deputies attempted to locate where an accident involving Allen's vehicle had taken place but were unsuccessful. Allen is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, police said.
