Description
FALLS CHURCH, VA — Falls Church City Public Schools is preparing for the move to the new George Mason High School building.
According to the school district's newsletter, the move will begin on Friday, Dec. 18. George Mason High School PTSA parents have been volunteering to assist teachers and staff with packing.
Volunteers are needed for upcoming days as the packing continues. The PTSA said the volunteering will make the moving process easier for the staff, and there is a particular need for the science, English, and Fine Arts staff. See the available time slots for socially-distant packing online.
One last chance to visit the old George Mason High School building is coming up later in December. There will be small group tours on Dec. 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign up for the tours here.
According to FCCPS, the old school building and site will be turned over to developers in early 2021. The West Falls development from Falls Church Gateway Partners, comprised of developers Hoffman & Associates and EYA, was chosen to defray costs of the George Mason High School construction.
