FALLS CHURCH, VA — The City of Falls Church's picks for president, congressional races and a City Council seat were announced in preliminary election night results on Tuesday. The city chose former Vice President Joe Biden for president, Sen. Mark Warner in the U.S. Senate race, Rep. Don Beyer in the 8th Congressional District race and Debbie Hiscott in the City Council special election. Even before Election Day, turnout in Falls Church had reached 70.4 percent of registered voters, according to Registrar Dave Bjerke. Turnout after polls closed was reported to be 82.45 percent. However, vote totals are not final. Mail-in ballots that are postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the registrar's office by noon on Nov. 6 have yet to be counted. Results on the statewide, locality and precinct levels are available on the Virginia Department of Elections results site. Absentee ballots are counted in the central absentee precinct. Below are the preliminary results by precinct for the City of Falls Church. Note that totals may change if additional mail-in ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 come in. President As of Wednesday morning, a winner has not been determined in the presidential race as votes continue to be counted in key states. But less than an hour after polls closed on Tuesday night, the Associated Press called Virginia for Biden. In Falls Church, Biden received 7,077 votes, while President Donald Trump received 1,472 votes, and Libertarian Jo Jorgensen received 111 votes. Mark Warner. Virginia's senior senator won his third term by defeating Republican challenger Daniel Gade. In Falls Church, Warner received 6,946 votes and Gade received 1,728 votes. Don Beyer on Tuesday night. The congressman is currently serving his third term representing the cities of Falls Church and Alexandria, as well as parts of Fairfax County. Beyer received 6,931 votes in Falls Church, while Republican challenger Jeff Jordan received 1,684 votes. Below are the precinct-level results. According to unofficial results, the winner is Debbie Hiscott, the executive director of the Falls Church Education Association. The other candidates were Joshua Shokoor, a member of the city's Housing Commission and Simone Pass Tucker, an activist. Unofficial vote totals are 4,177 for Hiscott, 2,402 for Shokoor, and 1,019 for Pass Tucker.
