SEVEN CORNERS, VA — Four residents were displaced after a fire at a Seven Corners condominium complex on Halloween.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm activation in the 3100 block of South Manchester Street, the location of the Woodlake Tower Condominium, around 3:59 p.m. on Oct. 31. No one was home when the fire broke out. Another building resident activated the fire alarm system.
Units found a fire in a third-floor apartment and brought in additional units from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, the Arlington County Fire Department, and City of Alexandria Fire Department. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and there were no injuries.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by an overloaded, multi-plug adapter. Damages to the unit where the fire occurred were estimated to be $27,500. Several other areas of the building had water damage.
The residents declined Red Cross assistance.
