Centreville Group Collecting Food Donations During Coronavirus

CENTREVILLE, VA — The Centreville Immigration Forum is collecting food Saturday to distribute to local residents in need of assistance during the coronavirus crisis. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, the organization will be accepting non-perishable food items at its location at 5944 Centreville Crest Lane in Centreville. In March, the Centreville Immigration Forum discontinued arranging jobs between day laborers and those who want to hire them. The center is supporting its members and their families in other ways during coronavirus crisis, including providing them with food. The center also is connecting its members to emergency assistance offered by other organizations. In normal times, the Centreville Labor Resource Center, a program of the Centreville Immigration Forum, serves as a safe place where recent immigrants can get matched up with homeowners who need odd jobs done around the house or contractors who need workers for one- or two-day jobs.
