WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA — The Virginia Department of Transportation has completed work to relieve congestion and bolster safety at a West Springfield intersection. Improvements happened at a right-turn lane on Burke Lake Road at Braddock Road. Drivers on northbound Burke Lake Road can now merge onto eastbound Braddock Road through the new lane with delineator posts as barriers. The separated lane is one of two right-turn lanes in the northbound directions. Drivers can use the lane for continuous turns. The improvements cost $4,900, according to VDOT. That intersection has more than 96,000 vehicles passing through daily. VDOT also announced a third left-turn lane from Frying Pan Road to Sunrise Valley Drive in Herndon. Little , big difference!
