Fairfax County Offers 37 School Support Program Sites

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County will be offering a full-day in-person supporting return to school program at 37 sites starting on Sept. 8. The county's program will serve children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade in Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax, but space is limited. The Key Center and Kilmer Center sites will also serve individuals with multiple disabilities between ages 5 to 21. The county's program aims to ensure families have access to the services to support children's virtual learning in Fairfax County Public Schools. It will be held Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with support for children's learning during the virtual school day. The program aims to promote children's academic, social, emotional and physical development by balancing care, learning, guidance, friendships and play. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be provided. Each classroom will have up to 10 children who will stay in the same group with county staff every day. The program will follow health and safety guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
