Driver Identified After Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash In Fairfax

FAIRFAX, VA — A fatal vehicle crash happened Wednesday afternoon in Fairfax, according to Fairfax County Police. The single-vehicle crash happened after 12 p.m. on Zion Drive at Abernathy Court. A 2004 Hyundai Accent was heading north on Abernathy Court when the vehicle crossed over Zion Drive, left the roadway and hit a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead. He was identified as Jae Eung Kim, 64, of Annandale. The road reopened after the crash, but detectives continue to investigate what led to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.
