Online Quality Of Life Survey Open To Loudoun County Residents

ASHBURN, VA – An online version of a Loudoun County community survey that allows residents to weigh in on the quality of life and to provide feedback on government services and that was mailed to a percentage of residents in December is now available online and is open to all county residents. The survey is conducted periodically and is being offered online and will remain available through Feb. 1. The survey allows for anonymous responses to questions which provide local officials with an idea of how residents feel about overall community feel of Loudoun County. In 2018, 1,783 county residents participated in the survey, which showed that 87 percent of those who live in the county rated the quality of life in Loudoun County as being excellent or good. Residents identified safety, mobility and the economy as being the top priorities they wanted local officials to focus on over the next two years. Nearly 90 percent of local residents said the county provided good neighborhoods to live in while 90 percent said it was a good place to raise children and 90 percent of people said they felt safe living in Loudoun County. Other areas of the survey focused on recreational opportunities, quality of schools, cleanliness of neighborhoods and the quality of health care. Loudoun County contracts with the National Research Center to participate in the survey, which allows local officials to make comparisons with peer communities around the country. The survey has been used in more than 700 communities in 46 states. Results of the survey will be shared with the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors later this year.
