ARLINGTON, VA — Itching to hear some blues music this weekend but concerned about going to a club or restaurant during the days of social distancing? No need to worry, the Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting an event that will deliver a piano bar to your door. This Saturday, 9th Street Rocks is bringing Bobby McKey's Dueling Pianos to Ballston. Two piano players will be driving in a special twin-keyboard golf cart and making three stops along the 9th Street N. corridor. The performances will also include an appearance by Ballston's own blues legend, Memphis Gold. Residents are encouraged to grab their favorite cocktail and come out onto their balconies to listen to the music. "The idea is to play about 2 to 30 minutes and then move on down the road to the next set of balconies," said Beth Ketchum, media manager with Bobby McKey's Dueling Pianos. The roaming performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. Residents can submit song requests or view a livestream of the performances via Ballston's Facebook and Instagram accounts. Ballston BID will make a decision around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in case Dueling Pianos needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
