Arlington Election Results: Beyer, Garvey Snare Election Day Wins

ARLINGTON, VA — Although the final numbers won't be certified until Nov. 16, unofficial results show that Libby Garvey, the current chair on the Arlington County Board, has retained her seat by defeating challenger Audrey Clement in Tuesday's election. In the Arlington School Board race, three people were vying for two open seats on Tuesday. Unofficial results show that Christina Diaz-Torres and David Priddy defeated Symone Walker. Diaz-Torres pulled in the most votes, more than doubling the totals of each of her opponents. Arlington County voters overwhelmingly supported their incumbent congressman. Unofficial results show U.S. Rep. Don Beyer (D) defeating Republican challenger Jeff Jordan by more than 70,000 votes in Arlington's 55 precincts. Beyer pulled in 75.57 percent of the votes in the 8th Congressional District's 171 precincts.
