DC Bridges From Virginia To Be Closed For Inauguration Security

ARLINGTON, VA — In support of the U.S. Secret Service's Joint Transportation Plan for the 59th Presidential Inauguration, the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Department of Transportation will be instituting several bridge and road closures from Virginia to Washington, D.C. starting Tuesday. Local law enforcement will provide assistance. The Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) and 14th Street Bridge (I-395) will be closed from 6 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19 through 6 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 21. Traffic will be diverted as follows: I-66: Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Route 110 (Exit 75).I-395: Northbound traffic will be diverted at the George Washington Memorial Parkway (Exit 10B).I-395 Express Lanes: When the lanes are northbound, all traffic will be diverted into the main lanes near Edsall Road. In addition, the National Park Service will be closing the Arlington Memorial Bridge. VDOT's bridge and road closures coincide with other planned transportation adjustments during the inauguration, including the closure of 13 Metro stations and the cancelation of MARC train service into the city.
