Description
NEW BRAUNFELS, TX — Police have issued an Amber Alert for an 8-year-old New Braunfels girl who they say is with her mother and is considered to be in "immediate danger."
Police identified the child as Kiley Diaz, who is approximately four feet tall and weighs between 50 and 60 pounds. Kiley has wavy, dark brown hair and was last seen wearing pink Mickey Mouse pajamas. Police believe she is with her mother, 29-year-old Alyssa Lopez.
On Friday at approximately 9 p.m. New Braunfels police were called to a home in the 500 block of Starling Creek to assist Child Protective Services with removing Kiley from the home. Lopez became upset, police said, and locked case workers out the house before taking Kiley and fleeing out of the home's back door.
Later, police said eyewitnesses saw Lopez and the child walking through a ditch in the area of Conrads and Goodwin lanes before getting into a black, four-door truck. The truck was last seen heading southbound on I-35 and was last known to be in the Selma area. Police said they don't know who is driving the truck.
Lopez is approximately five-feet five-inches tall, and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes and a sleeve tattoo featuring a sunflower. She was last seen wearing black athletic shorts and a black T-shirt with white writing.
Police said they have reason to believe Lopez could be taking Kiley to Pearsall, or to California or Washington state.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kiley Diaz or Lopez is asked to call 911 or call the New Braunfels Police Department at 830-221-4100.
