Press release from the City of San Antonio: February 11, 2021 San Antonio Solid Waste Management hosts Free Landfill Day CONTACT: Marcus Lee, 210-207- 6463 [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 11, 2021) – Saturday, February 13, San Antonio Solid Waste Management customers are invited to participate in the City's Solid Waste Management Department's free landfill day from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Customers may dispose of unwanted bulky waste at three convenient locations for easy access to drop off unwanted material. This event is available only to San Antonio residential solid waste rate payers. In order to participate, please make sure the following guidelines are met: Bring a valid picture ID Bring a copy of the most recent CPS Energy statement showing payment of the solid waste fee Cover loads with a tarp (This is a City law - City Ordinance #2015-09-10-0760) NO roofing materials, sheet rock, dirt, brick, brush, lumber or construction materials will be accepted NO industrial, commercial or construction waste will be accepted Locations: Republic Services Landfill 7000 IH 10 E, 78219 TDS Transfer Station (Bulky items only – no bagged garbage) 11601 Starcrest, 78247 Customers may be required to wear a safety vest (provided) Waste Management Landfill 8611 Covel Road, 78252 Customers may be required to wear a safety vest (provided) Accepted Material: Appliances Bagged Garbage (only at the two landfills) Carpet Fencing Material Furniture Mattresses Tires (limit six passenger tires per household Toilets Water Heaters The City reserves the right to divert loads to other sites in the event of operational constraints. The City of San Antonio and Partners are not responsible for damage to vehicles or injury to citizens during event.
