ROUND ROCK, TX — The Round Rock ISD will open enrollment for new students on March 1, school district officials announced.
On Monday, March 1, kindergarten and new students who live within the Round Rock ISD attendance area will be able to enroll for the 2021-22 school year, officials wrote in an advisory. Children who turn 5 years old by or on Sept. 1, are eligible for kindergarten, officials added.
Round Rock ISD public schools have 35 elementary, 11 middle, seven high, and three alternative learning centers providing students with access to innovative programming that engages and taps into their specific interests, aspirations, and preferred learning styles.
Programming varies by campus and can include advanced academics, leadership academies, industry certifications, career and technical education, arts integration, dual language, enrichment, STEAM, UIL athletics and fine arts, early college, and special education services. Each of the district's elementary schools has after-school care available through a partnership with the YMCA.
This fall, the district will open Elementary School 35, located at 1500 Ty Cobb Place. The school was approved by voters in the 2018 Bond and will serve 900 students, Pre-K through grade 5.Children who turn 4 years old by or on Sept. 1 and qualify for Round Rock ISD's full-day Prekindergarten program have the opportunity to enroll in July. Enrollment for current Round Rock ISD students opens in August, officials said.
