Description
Press release from the City of Irving:
February 18, 2021
The City of Irving has no plans to interrupt water service to customers, nor has the city issued a water boil notice. However residents should conserve water as much as possible for the next few days. Water Utilities crews are responding 24/7 to residential and commercial water and sewer emergencies. Do not panic about community and social media rumors about tap water availability in North Texas.
At this time, Irving Water Utilities is asking customers to limit water usage in their homes and businesses to only essential purposes through Sunday, Feb. 21.
Tips for saving water until freezing temperatures end:
Flush toilets only when necessary (40% of indoor use). Wait to do laundry (up to 40 gallons per load). Run the dishwasher only with full loads (15 gallons per load). Take very short showers (20% of indoor use). Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue dripping faucets to keep pipes from freezing, but to capture some of the water for other uses, such as watering plants. In addition, do not fill up bathtubs to hoard water.
For water- and sewer-related maintenance issues, call Irving Water Utilities at (972) 721-2281 or (972) 721-2664.
