Press release from the City of Irving: February 18, 2021 Warming Center Update: Senter Park Remains Open City of Irving Due to decreasing need, the City of Irving will close its Northwest Park Recreation Center warming center at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18. Residents in need of shelter and electricity are invited to visit Senter Park Recreation Center, 901 Senter Road. The center will be open 24 hours during the weather event and power outages. Visitors can charge devices and get a bite to eat while there. Residents in need are encouraged to seek shelter. For assistance in getting to a warming center, call (469) 875-0644, (469) 875-0643 or (972) 721-6448. All visitors are requested to wear face masks and socially distance from other households inside the center. Visitors are encouraged to bring medications, oxygen and PPE/face masks. Dress warmly in layers. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed or in a carrier. Do not bring luggage. The Texas Department of Emergency Management published a location map of warming centers around the state to assist residents.
