HUDSON, MA — You'll eat, you'll drink, you'll laugh — and you'll help feed a local family. An upcoming comedy showcase at Hudson's Stevie's Back Road Café will feature a group of local comedians telling jokes to raise money for the restaurant's charitable arm, the Feed A Neighbor program. Restaurant owner Stevie Dembro, a Marlborough resident, has been hosting comedy shows at his restaurant this winter with proceeds going to Feed A Neighbor. Through the program, he's provided thousands of low-cost meals, and donated food to nearby food service organizations. Marlborough native and comedian Serenity Jones, who hosts under the Thick Chick Comedy brand, is managing the upcoming shows. The event will feature Jones, who also hosts a comedy show on Unity Radio 97.9 FM, and comedians Kirsten Logan, Tony Capabianco, Mustafe Mussa and Melissa "Mizz Conduct" Elmore. "When Steve had asked if I would help with his Feed A Neighbor program, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of," Jones said. "Giving back has always been important to me." On top of the comedy shows, Dembro is opening his restaurant to local organizations or students that want to host charity events. Groups can use the restaurant for free, and 20 percent of proceeds go back to the organization. Tickets for the comedy event, which runs Feb. 26 and 27, are $25, but space is limited to 30 per event due to coronavirus restrictions.
