Description

In the vicinity of the border between Houston and Friendswood in Harris County lies the coverage of Harris County Road Improvement District #1. They need people to volunteer to serve on the Board of Directors (see email below). This is a Special Utility District that has an Ad Valorem tax rate of 0.2935, outstanding bonds, gross receipts in excess of $250,000, and cash and temporary investments in excess of $250,000 [Reference 1]. To serve as a Director, you need to live in the coverage area. To find out, Reference [2] takes you to the Harris County Tax Assessor's website's Voter Precinct Street Guide. After entering your address, you click on the "info" link (just above the "map" link on the right) to see if "HARRIS CO ROAD IMPROVEMENT DIST 1" is a district within which you reside. Once you determine that you're in the District, contact the District's lawyer for the next steps (see email below). Reference [1] also has her phone number if you'd prefer to simply call. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! I have twoquestions: (1) Is there going to be an election on the May ballot for a replacement? (2) How many Directors positions are there for the District? Thank you for your time.
