AUSTIN, TX — Police continue to investigate a "suspicious death" in Central Austin on Saturday. Police early Saturday were dispatched to the 7000 block of Interstate 35 amid reports of multiple shots fired, officials said in a subsequent news conference. Police said officers found a mortally wounded man inside his car before the shooting victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have not yet identified as suspect, and no further details were available. Police said a man was fatally shot at an East Austin apartment complex late Wednesday morning, police said. Austin Police Department spokesperson Destiny Silva told reporters two men reportedly were arguing at 2201 Willow Creek Drive before one of them was shot just before 11:10 a.m. The shooting victim who was inside a car was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. And on Jan. 29, Police found a mortally wounded man inside a car just after 9 p.m. at 1126 Mearns Meadow near the Quail Creek Neighborhood Park in North Austin, according to an advisory. EMTs tried to save the man, but he died from his injuries about 25 minutes later, police said. Witnesses told police they heard an argument and saw a struggle inside the victim's car. They heard gunshots and saw several people flee the scene, police said. A tan or silver four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Infiniti, was seen leaving the area immediately afterward, police said. All three victims were killed while inside their cars, and no suspects have been identfied in either case.
