Description

From the Knoxville Chamber: October 14, 2020 South College is launching its Master of Science in Nursing program with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) at its Nashville campus. Enrollment is open for qualified students to join the January 2021 class. The program is delivered in a hybrid format with both online and on-ground instruction and can be completed in as few as 18 months for full-time students. "We are excited to expand our advanced degree healthcare offerings and offer a flexible, hybrid program to our MSN-FNP students," said Nick South, president of South College Nashville. "Having online classes allows students to maintain family or work commitments while the on-ground experience will foster hands-on instruction. The MSN-FNP program is designed to best serve the needs of our students and the larger healthcare community." The faculty at South College will provide instruction in core MSN nursing courses to expand the students' knowledge and ability in nursing. Concentration courses focus on preparing the student to assume the role of an FNP. FNPs are advanced practice nurses who provide family-centered preventive care and diagnose and treat various health conditions. The South College MSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
