ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — Four people were killed Saturday night following a two-car crash on Illinois Route 53 near Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. The accident happened at around 11:33 p.m. according to a release from the Illinois State Police. Following notification of kin, the names of the deceased adults were released Sunday night: Stacy S. Harris, 45, of Schaumburg, (driver), and her passenger, Herlanda L. Harris, 47, of Chicago. Also killed were a 17-year-old male from Schaumburg and a 6-year-old boy from Chicago. They were all traveling together in a 2019 blue Ford Fiesta. The driver of the other car involved in the accident — a 32-year-old male from Bellwood — was traveling on Route 53 northbound at Kirchoff Road in a 2018 black Jeep Wrangler, according to a preliminary investigation. The Ford Fiesta was stopped on the right shoulder of the highway. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Jeep veered off the roadway to the right striking the rear of the Ford Fiesta. The impact forced both vehicles to cross all lanes of traffic and come to rest on the left shoulder. The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. This crash is still under investigation.
