Tiny amateur film crew looking for sound op, March 6-12

Description

We are a tiny film crew (a DP, three actors, and a chef) in search of someone to work the sound on outdoor sets this March 6-12. This is a small passion project (a 15-20 minute short) that will play at an event in late March. We lack experience but are fully motivated and fairly equipped. All shooting will be outdoors in natural areas around SLO and Lake Margarita. We have a Tascam DX-40 field recorder, two Rode wireless lavs, and a Sennheisser shotgun mic to boom. Our current plan is to have inactive actors handle sound, but any of you who work sound may already imagine what a feat that would be to pull off. So the kicker: we are COVID-cautious and well-quarentined. Our safety lead has guidelines enough for how we five handle our virus risk before shooting begins March 6. Because it's already too late to ask the same regimen for you, we will be distanced and masked from you during the shoot, or anyway as much as is called for by outdoor spaces. We therefore can't offer transportation from SLO to the wilderness, nor our shelter. And because we can't offer pay, I feel pretty chickenshit about not being able to offer the easy comradery of creative energy. What we can do is offer credit (of course), food for the week, autonomy, and deferral to your expertise. And I do expect to have fun during filming. If this interests you at all, no matter your level of experience, email me and we can discuss the details. I could also send you a script, if it interests you. Cheers, Varvara
