Hello potential family! I am a 33 year old living just outside the metro are currently. I'm looking to assist a singular family until the end of May, 2021. I'll be moving to a rural part of the country to assist families in need at that time and am looking to boost my funds for my move as well as to provide subsidized care to families who can't afford it once I get settled in. As a nanny I have over 16 years of experience and in 2019 I trained as a birth and postpartum doula. I have extensive experience working with ages 0-12, and thanks to my training I have even more tricks and magic up my sleeve for infants as well! I've done childcare work in preschools and daycares, worked through DHS in the past and am an honest, open communicator with families. I am laid-back and easygoing, my expectations for toddlers on up is fairly low and I do my best to instill good manners and values in little ones while still allowing them their creative freedom. I maintain CPR and First Aid with AED, and have done continuing education classes towards early childhood education as well as towards my birth and postpartum care training as well. I am a big supporter of some independent playtime and resting throughout the day, and for positions 8 hours or longer I do prefer children under the age of 4 rest their little bodies and minds for at least an hour generally after lunch time. I find it to be so vital to keeping them happy and able to run throughout the day without being miserable towards dinner time. I've got experience with Reggio as well as Montessori and have to say both have their merits! I'm comfortable working with families to instill the values in their child's life that they prioritize. My rates are anywhere from $15/hr and up, depending on needs and time booked. Since I'm looking to make extra income, I'd prefer positions that were 20-30 hours per week and families who understand I am only available until the end of May!
