They decided to stay on their own that way they don't have to deal with regulations of the United States of America.
One of those regulations is reserve capacity, another one of those regulations is no increase in rates during a tragedy.
Texas will put you in jail for not paying your bill and a lot of Texans are going to learn that when that 1000-10,000 dollar electric bill arrives.
El Paso is not on the Texas Energy Grid, they had ZERO problems.
