FEMALE VOCALIST WANTED – Working Cover Band – Central NJ Dragonfly, an established gigging cover-band, is seeking a female vocalist and co-front-person to sing lead on roughly 50% of our songs and sing backing vocals on the rest. After 10+ years, our beloved long-time female vocalist has decided to pursue other interests. Two male vocalists will share the remaining 50% of the lead vocals and harmonies. The band consists of lead guitar, rhythm guitar/keys/harmonica, bass, and drums. We are looking for a strong female vocalist with a dynamic range who is able to sing multiple styles of music (rock, pop, blues, soul, dance, etc.), is able and comfortable singing lead on traditionally “male” songs in addition to “female” covers, and who has a good ear for harmony. You must be willing to learn a solid base of our existing material at first, but we are also open to learning some tunes that are already in your wheelhouse. Dragonfly is a party cover-band that plays an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary rock, pop, blues, funk, dance, and soul music, blending classic songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s with current hits to bring the audience to their feet and out onto the dance floor. Founded in 2010, our band is renowned for our musical diversity, driving solos, strong lead vocals, and tight harmonies. Pandemic notwithstanding, we regularly rehearse once per week (in Old Bridge, NJ) and typically perform twice per month throughout mostly Central New Jersey and along the Jersey Shore. We typically play hard-driving "electric" sets for bars, clubs, and casinos, but we also occasionally play acoustic sets geared toward smaller, more intimate settings like restaurants, wineries, and coffee-shops. We also play private-parties and corporate events. With a large and varied catalogue, we try to shape the set list to fit the crowd.
