We are looking for a temporary Pond Field Technician who will be responsible for maintaining basic aspects of algae pond operations including, but not limited to pond growth, harvest, transfers, feeding, and cleanliness of the farm and field functions. This position is expected to last about 8-10 months. In this position, you will be working a schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate has related experience, is willing to work outside rain or shine, and has great mechanical abilities and attention to detail. Hours Full-time, 6:00am-2:30pm, scheduled days TBD Location Kailua-Kona, Big Island Pay $16 an hour Responsibilities Sweep and harvest ponds with tractor. Lining ponds, laying pipes and performing general labor duties. Collect daily pond samples, pH, and temperature data and maintain accurate files. Calibrate pH and temperature meters. Feed and treat ponds with nutrients as needed. Process daily pond cleaning and sanitation, pressure wash ponds as needed. Set up pond transfers and harvests. Maintain all equipment organized, set-up, fueled, etc. Monthly janitorial duties. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of previous experience, preferably in a production facility, aquaculture, or farming. Experience with Forklift, Sky Trak, and tractors is helpful, but not required. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors rain or shine. Ability to work weekends as needed. Interested?
