(281) 219-5122 Responsibilities: - With the support of the management team, the technician is responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance system - Keep repair costs under budget, looking for ways to reduce costs without affecting efficiency. - Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined. - Identify problems from the root cause, fixing them accordingly. - Ensure brakes, engines, steering, and electrical systems work properly. - Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels and rotating tires. - Maintain records of vehicle service and repairs. - Perform repairs to manufacturer and Balsas specifications. - Create checklists for drivers and machine operators to ensure machinery and vehicles are working properly before leaving our warehouse. The technician is responsible to keep a log. - Keep most used repair parts in stock, ready when needed. - Take on assignments as needed. Skills/Qualities we are looking for: - Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy equipment - Minimum 5 years’ experience on diesel trucks - Candidate should be able to read manufacturer operators, parts, and service manuals. - Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment. - Computer software experience is a plus (Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet navigation) - Familiarity with blueprints and technical documents - Valid driver’s license - Must be bilingual (English & Spanish) - Must be detail-oriented, with a good attitude and great mechanical and troubleshooting skills. - Background check and pre-employment drug screen required - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Should be able to lift loads between 20 to 50 pounds from time to time
