Description
Inspired by the New Negro Movement of the early 1900’s, Adelaide Hall is a reflection of black experience, travel and advancement. We could not be more pleased to say WE ARE BACK! A culinary experience steeped in the culture of my skin, I created ADELAIDE HALL for the food, the film, the art that inspires me. It is my desire to share decades of a journey through kitchens and dining rooms, through cities and nations. Standing with me: Chicago native Chef Maurice Wells has infused flavors from his global travels – Paris, Montreal, Kyoto, the Caribbean and more – into his dishes, bringing the world just a bite closer. For AH, Chef curates a 4 course menu bound to satisfy the belly and soul. Eating in ADELAIDE HALL: For me, there is no such thing as fusion. There is only the blending of flavors. Negrasian (adj.) the blending of flavors from Asian cultures with the culture of the black American. The food I want to show you is fresh, seasoned, textured, and an obvious meld of my childhood and my adulting through the restaurant industry. Finding a kinship in Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and China, I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed a meal in each of those nations. In the culture of my blackness exists room for more flavor. Togarashi, ginger, cumin, star anise, shiso, lemongrass. Fish and game. This blending of experience, travel, and upbringing is how I eat. How I eat is ADELAIDE HALL. This industry is so full of life, laughter, and dedicated folks. We are in the business of hospitality, the business of getting together but most importantly, the language of awareness. Join us in carving out a space that celebrates unity and equity. How to book your table: Adelaide Hall respects the advice of our city's and state's health officials. With that said, we are booking events on a private basis. Parties of minimum 6 and maximum 20 are welcome to dine on any open night. Once a party is booked for that evening, the night is sold out. In the case, you cannot attend one of the available nights please contact me at [email protected] Getting ready for ADELAIDE HALL: Dress is "first date with someone you know" casual. Please remember your mask. Enjoy. --Mo Carter https://adelaidehallchicago.com Portion of Proceeds benefit MY BLOCK MY HOOD MY CITY https://www.formyblock.org/ For Your Health and Safety: In our new normal, I want to, must and find it necessary to ensure your health when dining in ADELAIDE HALL. This is a communal environment. Social distancing between tables will be in effect, we will do temperature checks on every attendee and the room has been “platinum” sanitized before each seating. If you are not feeling well or have experienced symptoms associated with COVID-19, we ask that you do not attend the event and contact organizers. Health is a priority. Thank you for your cooperation.
