This is a fast-paced Instructor-led 10-hr course. It covers rifle safety, basic operations, shooting positions, cleaning and maintenance. The NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course is a traditional Instructor-led classroom course. It is designed to familiarize attendees with popular rifle operations and safety. Major areas of focus include key components and actions, proper loading and handling, primary shooting positions, major differences in ammunition, cleaning and storage, an overview of different types of rifle shooting sports, and much more. Students are exposed several styles of rifles and a number of popular accessories. The course is approx. 7-hrs of face-to-face classroom presentation, plus 3-hrs of hands-on training and shooting qualification at a local gun range.
