Salem Pedestrian Struck On Highland Avenue In Critical Condition

SALEM, MA — A Salem man was rushed to Salem Hospital in critical condition after he was struck walking on Highland Avenue Saturday morning. Police said the 41-year-old man was conscious when he was treated at the scene near the outbound lane of 205 Highland Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Police said the driver, a 26-year-old woman from Salem, remained on the scene. An investigation into the crash will determine whether charges will be filed. Salem detectives and the Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team also responded to the multiple calls about the pedestrian strike. Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call the Salem Police Criminal Investigations Division at 978-745-9700 or the anonymous tip line at 978-619-5627. Witnesses do not need to give your name.
