FOXBOROUGH, MA — For the first time since January, Foxborough is no longer considered a "high-risk" community for coronavirus. Foxborough was one of more than 40 cities and towns that dropped off the state's list of red high risk communities over the past week. There are now only 66 communities on the list. Cases have been trending down in recent weeks, and on Thursday two important markers — the positive test rate and daily new cases — fell below key thresholds in Foxborough As of Thursday, Foxborough's positive test rate was 4.07 percent, and the town was adding about 28 new cases per day per 100,000 people. Compare that to about a month ago on Jan. 14: Foxborough's positive test rate was 7.29 percent, and new daily cases were over 68 per 100,000. Foxborough is now listed as a yellow moderate-risk community on the state map. Foxborough saw the same similar trend in the right direction that the rest of the state saw. The seven-day average positive test rate for the state fell to 2.13 percent, the lowest level since early Nov. Statewide case counts, hospitalizations and deaths also all fell over the last week. There were 1,803 new confirmed cases and 61 deaths Thursday.
