Description
EASTON, MA — Easton firefighters responded to a serious Muti-vehicle crash Thursday evening that left 10 people injured, said a press release from the fire department.
Fire officials responded to the crash at the intersection of Washington and Purchase Streets at approximately 5:07 p.m., where they discovered multiple people trapped inside two minivans that had crashed head-on.
Hydraulic rescue tools were used to break away pieces of the two vehicles and free the ten occupants, who were treated for various non-life-threatening injuries at the scene and transported to local hospitals.
"Considering the amount of damage and number of occupants in this head-on crash, it is very fortunate that it appears that no one was serious injured," said Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Carroll in a statement. "Our fire crews and mutual aid partners are to be commended for their rapid response and aggressive work on Thursday evening."
Easton police and Dr. Henry Crowley, the town's service medical director, also responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Easton Police Department and no further information has been released.
