WESTPORT, CT — A 40-year-old Bridgeport woman, who Westport police said was working as a home health aide, was arrested on a warrant this week accusing her of stealing and cashing checks from one of her Westport clients, authorities said. Latonya Still surrendered to police on Tuesday and was charged with first-degree identity theft and second-degree larceny in connection with the incident, which began in November 2019. "The victim's daughter stated that she was looking over her father's financial statements when she noticed some irregularities," Westport police said. "A more extensive review of the victim's bank records revealed that multiple checks were made out to Latonya Still. Ms. Still was the victim's home health aide during the time frame in which the checks were issued." Police said the checks were written without the victim's permission, and his signature had been forged. Authorities did not disclose how many checks were stolen, nor did they disclose the total amount believed to have been stolen. Still was released after posting bond on bail of $7,500, and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 16.
